Design of a low-noise 32 channel data acquisition and trigger system for the ICARUS liquid Ar TPC. The read out chain is composed by three basic units (see The ICARUS T600 Status Report):
1) The Decoupling Board which receives analogue signals from the TPC wires and passes them to the Analogue Board; it also provides biasing of the wires and distribution of calibration signals.
2) The Analogue Board (Mod. V791) which houses the amplifiers, based on a two channel low noise analogue ASIC and provides data conversion (10 bit) at 40 MHz rate.
3) The Digital Board (Mod. V789) which employs the DAEDALUS chips implementing the hit finding algorithm.
A report describing the measurements performed on the ICARUS front-end electronics can be found here.
