> Nuclear: New generation of High Performance VME TDCs |
|
|
|
|
 |
CAEN introduces the new line of Deadtimeless Multihit TDCs.
Four models will be available in order to meet the requirements of almost any application: the mod. V1190 A and V1190 B feature 128 and 64 LVDS/ECL input channels respectively and 800/200/100 ps selectable LSB; the mod. V1290 has 32 LVDS/ECL input channels and 25 ps LSB, while the mod. V1290 N has 16 NIM input channels and 25 ns LSB as well.
The core of these modules is a High Performance TDC chip, developed by CERN/ECP-MIC Division: this device allows both "triggered" and "continuous" data storage. The acquired data are loaded into built-in 32-kwords buffers and can be readout via a VME64xP interface, which allows MCST accesses and CBLT data cycles.

Nuclear: The Mod. N638 16 Channel NIM-ECL/ECL-NIM Translator |
|
|
|
|
|
 |
The Mod. N638 16 Channel
NIM-ECL/ECL-NIM Translator is simultaneously an ECL-to-NIM
and a NIM-to-ECL converter, specially designed to fill the
gap between the most recent ECL circuitry and the traditional
NIM electronics. The board is housed in a one unit wide NIM
mechanics, in order to stay close to front-end electronics
with consequent better cabling and timing results.
Each of the 16 channels accepts a NIM or an ECL signal and
provides two indipendently driven NIM and one ECL outputs.
The NIM and ECL inputs of each channel are ORed prior to fan-out.
The maximum operating frequency is 300 MHz.
Moreover the module has two couples of front panel input bridged
connectors which accept two "COMMON IN" NIM signals,
thus allowing to use the module as a fan-out of 2x16 NIM and
2x8 ECL signals.

Microelectronics: Aurelia becomes the Aeroflex European Design
Centre |
|
|
|
|
The American group Aeroflex
and Aurelia Microelettronica S.p.A. (CAEN Network)
have signed an agreement for a collaboration which will permit
an easy access to the UTMC rad-hard mixed-signal technologies,
and at the same time, will guarantee the support of Aurelia
Design Centre, costantly focused on the microelectronics designing
for space application.
The agreement foresees, as main goals, the ASICs development
costs reduction, the complete support to the Customer from the
initial design discussion to the final "flight model"
approval, the acknowledge of European facilities for the rad-hard
testing and qualification, the availability of new products
dedicated to the European space market.

UNI EN ISO9001:2000 certification |
|
|
|
|
ASI
has awarded a new contract to CAEN Aerospace for the development
of the Power Supply System for the AMS-02 Tracker Detector.
CAEN Aerospace has obtained UNI EN ISO9001:2000
quality certification for the design and production of
hi-rel and space electronics.
The new Short Form Catalog 2003-2004,
with an overview of CAEN Aerospace products and on-going
projects, may be downloaded on-line. |
