|
|
|
|
 |
The new CAEN 2005 Products Catalog is now ready and will be available for download from the second half of September.
A renewed, reader-friendly layout allows an
easy and complete consultation of the CAEN Power Supply and Data Acquisition production;
complete technical cross reference tables help the user in finding the right product among wide
families of boards, which now include, as major novelties, new front-end crate controllers and radiation tolerant power supplies.
Clear ordering codes avoid mistakes in purchasing.
Besides products, the new catalogue contains useful information, like company profile, how to
reach us, word wide sales network, support addresses and more.

> Nuclear: C111 C Ethernet CAMAC Crate Controller |
|
|
|
|
 |
Despite the age of CAMAC standard, CAMAC boards are massively present
in any HEP laboratory and still used for small experiments or test setups.
The CAEN Mod. C111 C is a new CAMAC Crate Controller, designed to
simplify and speed up the hardware and software development of DAQ systems.
The unit allows advanced interaction by means of standard Ethernet services,
such as a local web server and TCP socket based communication protocol.
The internal processor runs a version of Linux optimized for low memory footprint.
A CAMAC bus control subsection handles all bus access operations and interactions, including LAM detection; a separate NIM subsection manages I/O signals located on the front panel: four outputs, four inputs, event counters and two "COMBO I/O" (trigger/busy) modules.
The dynamic local web server, perfectly suitable for crate
set up and maintenance, allows advanced monitoring and control without the
requirement of dedicated software installation, meanwhile, an embedded script
interpreter allows the local execution of C like code, with full control on CAMAC
and NIM functions.
Front panel indicators include X and Q signals on last access,
four user LEDs (controllable from script) and fault, connection status and NIM
default indicators.

> Computing: A1500 Single Board Computer |
|
|
|
|
The most recent development by CAEN Computing division is the CAEN Mod. A1500:
a single board computer, suitable to a wide variety of product design and development
tasks, whose core is the Atmel AT91RM9200 Microprocessor which provides excellent
performance with low power consumption.
These features, combined with the onchip I2C,
5USART, 3SSC, USB Device, USB Host, Smart Media, 10/100 Ethernet, SPI and
Compact Flash interfaces, allow the AT91RM9200 to form the basis of low-cost, high
performance products for industrial automation, telematics, medical applications and many others.
The AT91RM9200 Address and Data Bus as well as all GPIO are available via three
100-pin connectors.

> RFID: RFID Development Kit |
|
|
|
|
|
The new A928D RFID Development Kit is now available; the case contains one A928EU Long Range UHF Reader ("dumb" version), one Flat panel patch antenna, one CD ROM with Driver and demo software, one Passive Card board TAG (Mod. A931), one Passive Metal TAG (Mod. A926), one Semipassive temperature logger TAG (Mod. A927) and all the necessary PC cables and power cords, for immediate RFID test applications.
The CAEN Mod. A928 Long Range UHF Reader is a step forward in UHF RFID readers.
The A928 is optimized to increase receiver sensibility and reduce transmitter noise, while
covering distances of 5 - 6 meters (16 - 20 feet) with on-metal passive tags.
Easily integrated with most popular database software and fully compliant with ISO 18000-6B
and EPC Class 1 – Generation 1 protocol, Philips UCODE EPC 1.19, the A928 can be
used in conjunction with any passive or active tag that conforms to the same standards;
moreover, the reader can be easily upgraded for compliancy with other protocols.
With its extended read range, the A928 is well suited to asset management and logistics
applications that require the simultaneous reading of a large number of tags from a great
distance.
Using up to four antennas, the A928 can easily adapt to loading dock and gate
installations for container tracking, pallet tracking and warehouse management.
